In the first half of the year, approximately 2,400 more buildings have joined the Smart Building initiative, a key element in Poste Italiane’s green strategy, resulting in an electrical energy saving of 10.5 gigawatt-hours in 2025.
The goal is to achieve an estimated saving of around 17 GWh by 2027. Currently, around 6,700 buildings have advanced sensors installed, which collect data managed by a unified supervision, management, and integrated control platform. This system can automatically and optimally regulate lighting, heating, and ventilation systems, thus ensuring an estimated 15% reduction in electricity consumption, along with improved environmental comfort management. Poste Italiane has a clear strategy backed by targeted investments aimed at lowering operational costs while providing a valuable contribution to environmental protection.
