“Through its territorial presence, the Carabinieri provide a network of support and protection that allows citizens to engage freely in their activities, often serving as a reassuring symbol of humanity, which in turn evokes a strong sense of affection from the public and calls for a responsible response to their expectations,” the head of state continues.
“The Carabinieri, in collaboration with other Police Forces, carry out invaluable activities every day aimed at preventing and combating organized crime, terrorist threats, and common delinquency, while also contributing in critical areas such as labor, public health, cultural heritage, and environmental protection – emphasizes Mattarella -. The challenge to peace and civil liberties in countries that, alongside us, contribute to the European Union, amid the tumultuous changes in the global landscape, sees the Carabinieri participating in missions abroad, alongside other Armed Forces, receiving unanimous appreciation. As I express the gratitude of the national community to the Carabinieri, both active and retired, and to their families for their commitment, I extend my warmest wishes on this festive day. Long live the Carabinieri, long live the Armed Forces, long live the Republic!”, concludes the president.
