LECCO (ITALPRESS) – Leapmotor has launched the B03X in Italy, a fully electric urban crossover belonging to segment B, presented today in Montevecchia near Lecco. Compact and versatile, it combines city-friendly dimensions and SUV height, with a range of up to 382 km on the WLTP cycle. This new vehicle showcases its ability to seamlessly adapt to various driving conditions: nimble and intuitive in urban traffic, and comfortable on extra-urban roads. The front-wheel drive ensures stability and ease of control, with a top speed reaching 160 km/h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.6 seconds. “The B03X is the latest addition to Leapmotor’s lineup and is an Urban Crossover, which means it has all the positive traits of SUVs: ground clearance, versatility, and road presence but retains compact dimensions,” emphasizes Federico Scopelliti, Country Manager Leapmotor Italy.
With a length of 4,270 mm, a width of 1,810 mm, a height of 1,635 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,605 mm, the model strikes a balance between maneuverability and spaciousness, while the turning radius of just 10 meters makes maneuvering and parking easy. Additionally, the elevated driving position and well-balanced proportions provide good visibility and ease of access.
Passengers can enjoy 947 mm of legroom in the second row, up to 1,009 mm of height in the front area, and a longitudinal interior space of 2,277 mm. The total cargo capacity reaches 510 liters, including an innovative waterproof and washable compartment of 105 liters located under the cargo floor. By folding down the rear seats, the available volume expands to 1,605 liters, featuring a maximum load length of 2,530 mm, complemented by 33 storage compartments distributed throughout the cabin.
The onboard experience is managed by the Leap OS 4.0 Plus operating system, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, offering smooth and immediate interaction, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, online navigation with real-time traffic information, route planning, and over-the-air software updates. The B03X is available with two LFP battery configurations. The B03X Life version, equipped with a 39.8 kWh battery, features a 130 kW (176 hp) electric motor and offers a range of up to 292 km on the WLTP cycle. The B03X Life and B03X Design versions come with a 53.0 kWh battery, featuring a 145 kW (197 hp) motor that provides a range of up to 382 km on the WLTP cycle. Both configurations deliver 200 Nm of instantaneous torque and support rapid charging at 2.5C, allowing for a charge from 30% to 80% in just 16 minutes. The car has been developed with a focus on safety: every version is equipped with Level 2 driver assistance systems as standard. An intelligent network of 14 sensors and cameras constantly monitors the surrounding environment and supports 21 ADAS functions. Technologies available include Traffic Jam Assist, which aids the driver in heavy traffic situations, and Driver Fatigue Monitoring, which assesses driving behavior and alerts for any lapses in attention.
The B03X range is structured around two trims: LIFE and DESIGN. The former, available with both 39.8 kWh and 53.0 kWh batteries, includes automatic climate control, eco-leather steering wheel, LED headlights, roof rails, seven airbags, 21 ADAS features, rain sensor, 14.6-inch central display, 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, six-speaker audio system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The LIFE trim with the 53.0 kWh battery also adds 18-inch alloy wheels. The DESIGN trim, offered exclusively with the 53.0 kWh battery, enhances the offering with eco-leather seats, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat in six directions, heated front seats and steering wheel, electrically foldable mirrors, front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, a 12-speaker audio system, and ambient lighting. “LeapMotor arrived in Italy just two years ago, but it has quickly made a name for itself, especially thanks to the Stellantis distribution network and dealers.
