IMOLA (BOLOGNA) (ITALPRESS) – At the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, O.S.C.A., the historic brand founded by the Maserati brothers, is set for a revival under the Historic Italian Brands project led by Massimo Di Risio. Following the introduction of the Itala 35, the group presents the new O.S.C.A. MT6, the second model in the Fabbrica Italia lineup and the first representative of a new category termed “Sportover,” a compact coupe crossover aimed at merging sportiness, design, and advanced technologies. The MT6 name pays homage to the legendary MT4, O.S.C.A.’s inaugural racing car that premiered by winning the Naples Grand Prix in 1948. Measuring 4.51 meters in length, 1.87 meters in width, and 1.56 meters in height, the new model stands out with its muscular and dynamic style, prominently featuring carbon fiber, sculpted sides, a sloping roof, and 21-inch wheels. This project is a collaborative effort between Fabbrica Italia’s internal design center and Italdesign, with numerous other Italian companies contributing to the model development. Among them are Carbotech for carbon components, Pirelli for P Zero tires, Recaro Automotive for sport seats, and Sabelt for racing harnesses. The interior features leather and Alcantara finishes, a dual 10.25-inch digital screen, wireless charging, advanced driver assistance systems, automatic parking, and various comfort and safety devices.
The technical foundation comes from the platform of Chinese manufacturer Changan Automobile, refined and customized by an Italian team led by chief technology officer Roberto Fedeli. The 1.5 TGDI engine has been optimized in terms of electronics and driving dynamics management, thanks to collaborations with AVL, RE:LAB, and other specialized firms. The announced price is €49,000, with delivery expected to start in September.
The brand’s revival, however, already looks to the future. In 2027, coinciding with O.S.C.A.’s 80th anniversary, a new “Made in Europe” supersport car will debut, developed on a European platform, characterized by a composite body, design inspired by the brand’s historic GT models, and a strong integration of Italian technologies. This model will feature a two-seater configuration, a double-bubble roof, a truncated rear, and a price tag under €200,000. Strengthening its ties to its sporting heritage, O.S.C.A. will also participate in the 1000 Miglia 2026. Two examples of the new MT6 will accompany the historic O.S.C.A. MT4 Siluro along the route, while two prototypes of the future MT8, the higher segment crossover of the range, will follow the convoy in camouflage. The vehicles will run on the BenZero biofuel, composed of 65% renewable and recyclable sources, reaffirming the brand’s commitment to exploring alternatives to electrification without compromising performance.
Alongside the MT6 launch, a temporary showroom has also been inaugurated in Milano Marittima, intended to showcase both historic and new models from the group, reinforcing the revival of two iconic brands in Italian automotive history, O.S.C.A. and Itala.
