ROMA – Palazzo Chigi held a press conference for the presentation of the National Prevention Plan against the improper use of Fentanyl and other synthetic opioids. Orazio Schillaci is pictured.

“At the same time,” he added, “measures are also planned to enhance the role of professional orders. The contributions from technical rehabilitation and prevention professions will be crucial in strengthening the territorial healthcare system, which is one of the development axes of our assistance framework.” Schillaci further explained that “the healthcare system is undergoing a profound change. The aging population, the rise of chronic diseases, and advancements in digital medical technologies are reshaping care models and necessitating more flexible, integrated, and community-oriented organizations. In this scenario, the role of healthcare professionals is becoming increasingly significant.”

CATANIA: “THE NHS DEFENDS ITSELF BY ENHANCING SKILLS”

“The National Health Service cannot be defended solely through financial resources: it primarily defends itself by enhancing the skills, efforts, and responsibilities of healthcare professionals.” The future of Italian healthcare relies on this human capital,” stated Diego Catania, President of FNO TSRM and PSTRP, during the General States of the National Federation of Healthcare Technical Orders for Medical Radiology and Rehabilitation and Preventive Health Professions. “We aimed to promote this moment of reflection because we believe that the reorganization of healthcare professions should start from a very clear premise: the centrality of professional skills in safeguarding citizens’ health,” he continued. “The professions represented by this Federation, spanning technical-diagnostic to technical-assistive areas, from rehabilitation to prevention, form an essential component of the health system. These professionals work daily with competence, accountability, and dedication within the National Health Service, ensuring diagnosis, safety, prevention, rehabilitation, and quality of care pathways, yet they have not always been recognized to the extent they deserve.”
