“In addition to this, there are numerous other initiatives we are undertaking alongside the Ministry of Labor, utilizing both national and European funds, to build a structural capacity that ensures families receive vital support. We have introduced other measures facilitated by the government, like the ‘Dedicated to You’ card, which allocates 500 million to aid over a million families in covering about a month’s worth of grocery expenses. This is of course funded by the community, as it is a way to assist those who, due to inflation and rising living costs, are at risk of losing access to quality nutrition. Such challenges not only hinder individuals but impact the entire system. It is our duty to ensure that quality nutrition is available to all, not just basic sustenance. Beyond the aspect of generosity, there is also a crucial responsibility for all of us, especially me as the Minister of Agriculture: to ensure that the most sustainable supply chains, and the quality that our system can deliver, are made accessible to everyone. This is the work we are engaged in, and significant results are starting to show,” concluded Lollobrigida.
