IPA65202168 – Cavola (Re) – Opening of the largest aging warehouse for Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese in the Apennines, with a storage capacity of 60,000 wheels.

The ranking funds all 23 eligible applications due to an increase in the financial resources provided by the Region, rising from €5 million to €5.964 million, aimed at projects promoting some of the region’s main agri-food excellence: from Parmigiano Reggiano to Prosciutto di Parma, from Balsamic Vinegars of Modena to Zampone and Cotechino Modena PGI, from Mortadella Bologna to PGI Piacenza Salumi, as well as regional wines, Reggiana PGI Watermelon, IG Pesca and Nectarine from Romagna, Bologna PGI Potato, and Altedo PGI Green Asparagus, along with initiatives aimed at enhancing the regional agri-food basket and other certified productions.

“DOP, IGP, DOC, and certified productions represent one of the strong points of Emilia-Romagna’s agri-food sector and an economic, cultural, and identity heritage recognized worldwide,” emphasizes Alessio Mammi, Regional Councillor for Agriculture and Agri-food. “To continue to grow, it is not enough to produce quality: it is also essential to make it known, to strengthen its presence in national and international markets, and to support businesses in opening new commercial opportunities. That’s why we chose to increase the financial allocation of the call, financing all eligible projects and providing a concrete response to the certified production system in Emilia-Romagna. With this call, we strengthen the competitiveness of our supply chains, support producers’ incomes, and further enhance the heritage represented by geographical indications, in an international context marked by commercial tensions, market uncertainties, and the need to increasingly diversify sales markets. Promoting the excellence of Emilia-Romagna means supporting the work of thousands of agricultural and agri-food businesses and contributing to the growth of our entire territory.”

The ranking for the SRG10 intervention “Promotion of Quality Products” includes 23 projects, with a total investment of €8,484,572.57 and a public contribution of €5,939,200.80. Thanks to the increase in financial resources provided by the Region, all eligible applications have been funded. Beneficiaries include the Consortium of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese for the promotion of Parmigiano Reggiano, the Consortium of Prosciutto di Parma for the promotion of Prosciutto di Parma, the Consortium for the Protection of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena for the promotion of Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, and the Consortium for the Protection of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, among others.

Moreover, the Lambrusco Protection Consortium and the Custodians of Lambrusco for the promotion of Lambrusco, the Romagna Wine Consortium, the Consortium for the Protection of Doc Wines from Bosco Eliceo, and the Voluntary Consortium for the Protection of Wines from the Hills of Parma are funded for the promotion of their respective wine productions. Additional projects presented by the Emilia-Romagna Consortium, the Emilia-Romagna Regional Enoteca, Brisighella, the Modigliana-Stella dell’Appennino Association, the Integrated Territorial and Environmental Development of Castelvetro di Modena, and the Cesena Social Winery for the enhancement of the regional agri-food basket and local productions have also received funding.
