Angelo Radica, the president of Città del Vino, emphasized: “We are fundamentally an association of mayors who collaborate and work towards a common goal. Often, mayors find themselves isolated, and being part of our association provides significant added value. This is also true for our partners, as teamwork is essential for us. Without this unique aspect, an initiative like Le Notti del Vino might not have achieved such success and increasingly promising prospects. Blending entertainment with information in neutral venues, where everyone has space, is key to promoting wine tourism: something we have been doing for over twenty years, leading the way. Le Notti del Vino encapsulates the essence of our association.”

Serena Specchi, from Decanter Wine Academy, which oversees the Roman preview, shared: “The format works; the success of the first edition proves it. In Rome, particularly at Ponte della Musica, there will be numerous wineries from Lazio and many producers present: for us, conveying the culture of wine relies on the direct experiences of producers — every glass carries a story.”

Tiziano Venturini, national vice president of Città del Vino and delegate for Le Notti del Vino, recalled: “Three years ago, my region Friuli Venezia Giulia initiated this experience before bringing it to a national level. Our goal is to meet or exceed last year’s numbers. Thanks to this new format, we have garnered even greater interest than from our many previous initiatives. The theme of collaboration is crucial for us: Città del Vino fosters networking, and within Le Notti del Vino, communities work together to create joint calendars. This initiative also highlights the growing potential of wine tourism, which is worth three billion euros with ample room for expansion.”

Antonino La Spina, president of the National Union of Pro Loco of Italy (UNPLI, a festival partner), said: “The synergy arises organically, which is why it’s so successful. Coming from a wine town myself, I felt at home immediately. It’s essential for us to promote the region through local excellence, which is our forte, especially during events like Le Notti del Vino. Kicking off in Rome is crucial for energizing and drawing attention to smaller towns and communities, as it is vital for Le Notti del Vino to also serve as an occasion to discover and experience them, thereby illustrating the true value of our territories.”

Alberto Bertucci, national vice president of Città del Vino, highlighted the great activity of the association: “Just a few days ago, the International Wine Competition concluded. The awards will be held on July 11 at Campidoglio. The aim of Le Notti del Vino is to spread the message of drinking responsibly and in moderation, protecting a heritage that reflects history, excellence, and culture, while also promoting the economy behind production.” The honorable Claudio Mancini also spoke: “I hope we can introduce new initiatives. I trust that Rome will once again rise to the occasion and host this event. The city, after all, is at the center of many events and opportunities, and the message from Rome resonates increasingly stronger both nationally and internationally.”
