ROME (ITALPRESS) – The Ariya Nismo and the Nissan X-Trail mild hybrid are the latest innovations unveiled under the X-over Thinking philosophy, which encompasses the Japanese brand’s approach to products, technologies, and services. Following the 2024 updates to the Qashqai and Juke in the B-SUV segment, the Ariya Nismo is making a return to Europe. Nismo, which stands for Nissan Motorsports, is the sports division of Nissan that has infused this vehicle with expertise from Formula E racing, blending sustainable mobility with driving pleasure. While maintaining the original Japanese design, the Ariya Nismo has undergone a stylistic renewal featuring a lowered chassis and streamlined lines. It boasts a dual rear diffuser, front deflectors, and enhanced aerodynamic profiles for the doors. The exclusive 20-inch ENKEI “MAT Process” wheels, made from cast aluminum, are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires. The unique color is Nismo Stealth Grey. The completely redesigned interiors utilize premium materials, with sporty seating that provides exceptional comfort. Throughout the cabin, dark wood grains are present, and the steering wheel features red stitching, complemented by red ambient lighting. Built on the e-4ORCE 4WD version with 87 kWh, it delivers an impressive 435 hp, which is 130 hp more than the previous version, achieving respectable performance from 80 km/h to 120 km/h in just 2.4 seconds and reaching 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds, thanks to a torque of 600 Nm.
The power distribution is not equal across the axles but is now set at 60% for the rear and 40% for the front, providing a sportier feel, aided by a system that adjusts power to each wheel in a thousandth of a second. Tested in the Castelli Romani area on mixed tracks, we found it to be even more precise in maintaining its trajectory and enjoyable to drive. The steering enhances its maneuverability due to its more direct feedback, and the new suspensions have improved control with modified springs and dampers. Braking performance is excellent with the i-Booster function and a new regeneration tuning. The price is set at €53,850, with incentives up to €12,000 and a 10-year warranty. Another new offering is the Nissan X-Trail Mild Hybrid, featuring a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 163 hp and a torque of 300 Nm, or e-POWER technology, a Nissan patent that uses a 100% electric motor to drive the vehicle’s wheels, supplemented by an internal combustion engine that generates energy. The variable compression ratio, ranging from a minimum of 8:1 to a maximum of 14:1, is also patented, optimizing performance and efficiency based on driving style.
The new Nissan X-Trail MY24 has improved safety technologies and is available in three trims: ACENTA, N-CONNECTA, and TEKNA, with options for 5 or 7 seats and two-wheel drive. Inside, the new 12.3″ full TFT instrument cluster displays 8 external points around the vehicle in 3D, as well as a 180° side view and view of the front wheels. It features easy access technology for convenient locking and unlocking as you approach or move away from the vehicle, along with a wireless smartphone charger. The newly designed alloy wheels, available in 18″ and 19″, convey a sense of elegance and sturdiness, and there is a hands-free tailgate opening feature. With a 9% increase in 2024 compared to the previous year and 3,800 units sold, the new version, designed for families and outdoor living, will start at a price of €31,800.
