ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The new Lancia Ypsilon has achieved the top rank in efficiency in the 2025 edition of the “From 100% to 5%” test, the largest comparative test of electric vehicles organized by Motor1.com and InsideEVs, held on the Grande Raccordo Anulare in Rome. With an energy consumption of 15.9 kWh/100 km, the new Lancia Ypsilon emerged as the most efficient electric car among the 12 models tested, showcasing an ideal balance of design, lightweight construction, and technology for urban and extra-urban mobility. This trial, endorsed by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and the Mobility Department of Rome Capital, evaluated the vehicles under real driving conditions. The models faced everyday traffic along the GRA, covering distances at cruising speeds with the air conditioning on and a driver present, until reaching a remaining battery level of 5%.
Lancia Ypsilon led the pack with an energy consumption figure of 15.9 kWh/100 km, the lowest recorded in the test, translating to an average operating cost of €9.7 per 100 km. This achievement is a result of the winning combination of aerodynamic efficiency, bolstered by an excellent drag coefficient (Cx) of 0.29, a lightweight body weighing around 1,550 kg, and an electric motor designed to deliver outstanding performance while maximizing energy savings. Beyond its consumption accolades, the new Lancia Ypsilon also achieved a real-world range of 302 km, ranking among the top vehicles in the test in terms of distance covered. This outcome underscores Lancia’s strategy in developing increasingly sustainable, accessible electric cars that provide an uncompromised driving experience.
